Connecting to Source

One of the most important practises that I believe everyone should have is to connect to the Spiritual Source, better known as God.

Whether through prayer, meditation, silence or contemplation, establishing this connection daily is extremely important, is the fuel for your soul.

One of my favourite books is Celestine Prophecy. I read this book at 16 years of age, in a time where internet was not what it is today. This book arrived in my life as a confirmation of things that I had always known to be true internally, but had no one outside to talk to, or that understood that perspective.

In the book James Redfield the author, describes the 3rd and 5th insight as perceiving reality as energy and that humans can increase their own power by connecting to Nature, or accessing a Higher Source of energy by going within, or aligning with a wiser deeper perspective and awareness.

In the 4th insight, the book describes what usually happens when we become disconnected, we try to take energy from other people by manipulating them into control scenes, or dysfunctional patterns of aggressive energetic takeover, either through intimidation (threat of another’s physical, emotional, mental wellbeing), Interrogation ( the control of another’s thinking and response), Distant (playing aloofness, unresponsiveness, passive aggression) to attract attention and Victim ( making others feel guilty and responsible to satisfy our needs).

These only happen when we believe that others need to give us what we need in order for us to feel good. Most of the times we fall into such patterns unconsciously and out of habit, either we feel threatened, or insecure, depleted, unsatisfied and we seek for that bit of attention or energy to fulfil us.

When we practise connection with Source and are able to maintain it through the day, we experience being filled with an energy of Love, inspiration, peace that is quite fulfilling many times leading us to deeper experiences of connection with Everything, and Everyone similar as the one described in the 5th Insight.

It takes practise and it doesn’t mean that we never get angry or upset, but the continuous long term practise of this connection, establishes a vibration that if kept over a long period of time, makes us less prone to irritation, anger and other agitating emotions many times even during moments of crisis. It also reduces the need to take energy from others using control scenes or manipulation, and is also the path towards receiving intuitive nudges (7th Insight) that can guide us through life.

My favourite practises for this is meditation and talking (praying) to God.

When you subscribe to my newsletter I offer you my free meditation where I guide you step by step into the way I practise meditation.

For those who never done this before, the best way to start is to write to God (or whatever name you like to call, I prefer Source), using a diary, start talking to Source as the quiet invisible friend that knows you, even if your senses can’t capture. Express your deeper feelings and thoughts, I recommend that you don’t see Source as a gift giver and just write what you want and your desires, though occasionally there’s nothing wrong with that, here you are trying to develop a friendship with this Being.

Meditate every day, it’s like your phone call, it’s like you are tuning your radio to Source’s radio so you can capture His radio station. To start I recommend at least 20/30 min, if you can’t always do that time, do 5 or 10 minutes, but do it. If you can give 1 hour or more that is even better.

When you start meditation, if you have never done before, you can start by aiming quieting your mind, or practise concentrating in a dot, a (small) object ( candle light, mandala, a ping pong ball), the concentration is a way for you to practise silencing your mind and quieting your thoughts. It takes patience and perseverance especially if your mind tends to like racing and overthinking, but over consistent practise you will notice great results.

You can also practise each hour for one minute to connect to your heart and from the heart to say “Hi” to Source, trust that She heard you, if you feel it, keep that line open and hour by hour you’ll be able to keep the connection.

Practise contemplation of whatever inspires you and your heart.

Through contemplation you can access deep states of being and these tend to silence your mind, touch your heart leaving you really close to Source. Nature is one of the most easier ways, a sunset, forest bathing, mountain, a green landscape, the ocean… but a beautiful melody or song, a painting (Impressionist paintings are my favourites), poetry can do that.. I also find some spiritual teachers also can deeply touch my soul. Find the one what inspires you most.

Practise love from the heart. If you start with a person, a pet, a flower, a plant… look for things that make your heart sing and happy and then imagine that Source is loving you back through those objects of attention. The more your heart activates, the easier you will be able to experience that connection to Source and feel it deeply.

There are also Hatha yoga exercises that work specific chakras, that you can practise to open your heart, though I strongly recommend that you find a class and practise yoga consistently, and not sporadicaly, yoga is a way of life where everything is connected to have the most effect.

If you can’t do yoga classes for some reason, learn the Sun Salutation and do it a few times in the morning, as it’s also a good way to start the day with that connection. You can find some yoga channels that teach this technique.

By practicing connection to God every day you will see incredible life changes and transformations within your own being, you’ll feel energised and in a good mood.

This is what the Jedi’s call the Force (at least the good side of it).

Feel the Force and may it always be with you.
